Nottingham City Council submits plans for new leisure center
Published: 08-Mar-2010
Nottingham City Council has submitted plans for GBP9 million ($13 million) redevelopment the new Victoria Leisure Centre for approval.
Nottingham City Council is developing a brand new leisure center on the site of the existing Victoria Leisure Center, retaining some of the original features but creating an exciting modern building, as artist's impressions show.
The current building is to close on April 1, 2010 so that as soon as planning permission is granted, the council can move onto site to start the development process and keep the period of closure to a minimum. It is expected the new facility will be ready for its first customers in 2012.
The plans see a six-lane 25-meter family swimming pool with separate children's pool and fun splash play area, a new café/retail space, and modern fitness and health suites developed on the site.
